Angle worked for 24 years as a professor and administrator at the University of Maryland. His research focused on macro- and micronutrients and cycling within the agroecosystem. He also helped develop the concept of phytoremediation for cleanup of contaminated soil. From 2005 to 2015, Angle served as the dean of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at the University of Georgia. Currently, he is president and CEO of the International Fertilizer Development Center, where he oversees a staff of more than 800 employees and coordinates development projects around the world. He has been a Fulbright Scholar and is a fellow of the ASA and SSSA.
